Why have I received a bill from Heartland Pathology Consultants, PC?
Additional Reasons for receiving a bill.
- No response from your insurance company: Sometimes we don’t know the reason why an insurance company does not pay. If they have not responded with a payment or denial within the time specified, it becomes your responsibility to resolve this matter with your insurance company.
- Unable to identify the patient due to incorrect name or ID number: the name and insurance card number provided by your physician or medical facility must be identical to the name and insurance number listed on your card or the insurance company will be unable to process your claim.
- Coinsurance, co-payment or deductible: This is the amount due from you as determined by your insurance plan. Please review your policy. Deductibles must be paid before the insurance company will begin to make payments. Sometimes the laboratory claim reaches the insurance company before the doctor or facility claim. If you believe that the insurance company processed your claim incorrectly you will need to contact them as you know your plan benefits.
